The 8th and final round of this season’s JBRL Nitro Series was held at Hot Rod Hobbies in Saugus, California this past weekend, attracting over 100 entries. In the Expert Buggy A-main it was Anthony Westergaard with they overall TQ and he also walked away with the win in the single 15-minute A-main event, leaving behind Cole Jenson in 2nd place only some three second back. Carlos Arredondo came in 3rd to round out the podium result.
In the Open Electric Buggy class it was Cole Jenson with the overall TQ, however in the single 10-minute A-main it was 2nd place qualifier, Jake Mayo with the win some 8.5 seconds in front of Walker Spinrad. Cole had to settle for 3rd overall with Anthony Westergaard leading the best of the rest in 4th.
The Open Nitro Truggy category saw Anthony Westergaard with the clean sweep as he took the overall TQ and also the win with a lap margin from 2nd place qualifier, Cullen West while Stephen Bess, 3rd after the qualifiers, retained his position to round out the podium.
Over in 40+ Nitro Buggy it was Kyosho driver Stephen Bess who lead the way from former IMFAR Nitro Buggy World Champion, Greg Degani (JQRacing) while another american icon, The Fabulous Barry Baker rounded out the top 3 results for TLR.
