Xray XB2’20 long & short aluminium chassis

Coming from Xray and made for their XB2 2020 2WD off-road buggy are new long and short aluminium chassis options. Starting with the long chassis, it is machined from 2.5mm 7075-T6 aluminium and it sports bent outer sides for improved weight balance and ground clearance during cornering. Using the chassis will increase the car’s overall traction and this is recommended for low traction or bumpy astro turf tracks. The universal fit is usable with both the Dirt and Carpet editions of Xray’s popular XB2 buggy.

Also new is a short chassis variant, again being made of 2.5mm high-quality 7075-T6 aluminium. Like the long chassis the short main plate features bent side sections with the short wheelbase specification improving rotation in corners while making the car more reactive which can be a advantage especially for carpet tracks. The chassis fits both the Dirt and Carpet specification cars and like the long chassis variant it comes black anodises for wear and looks.

Aigoin Racing introduce new 1/8th off-road optionals

Aigoin Racing from France have announced the release of new option parts for a range of 1/8th off-road vehicles. First up are front upper arm wings for the Team Associated RC8B3.1 and the Mugen MBX8. Moulded from high-quality carbon fibre the wings help to fine-tune the aerodynamics, as they improve front downforce during high speed cornering and while jumping. Included in each set come plastic mounting brackets and hardware for secure fastening of the wings.

Also new are silver carbon fibre thermal tank protection plates. These help to keep the fuel tank and thus the fuel cooler during a run, preventing the tank from swelling and enlarging its volume which can cause issues during tech inspection. In addition, lower temperature fuel will improve overall performance and run time. The thermal protection plates are available for the Team Associated RC8B3.1, Mugen MBX8 and HB Racing D819 and they include mounting hardware. Last but not least comes a set of carbon fibre chassis side guards for the Kyosho MP10 buggy, moulded from high-quality carbon fibre. The pods are very lightweight yet strong enough to withstand the rigours of racing. Using the guards will also add visual impact and they include all needed mounting hardware.

RPM X-Maxx shock shaft guards orange

RPM have announced the release of select Traxxas X-Maxx option parts in orange colour. First up are the shock shaft guards for the popular Traxxas truck. Rocks, dirt and debris striking the shock shafts lead to dents, dings and burrs, which, in turn, lead to torn shock seals. Torn shock seals means leaky shocks and poor shock performance. The shock shaft guards shield the shock shaft from those deteriorating elements, prolonging the life of the shock shaft, which improves the long-term performance of the suspension and in turn, prolongs the time between seal replacement and shock rebuilds. The guards are a simple design, replacing stock shock spring cups with ones that have mounting holes for a thin but tough shield that rises up to the base of the shock body. The guard completely blocks debris from striking the shock shaft. The back and sides are open, which prevents debris from building inside the guard as well. As an added bonus, RPM increased the length of the tubular spring support of the spring cup by nearly 2mm. The added length helps prevent the spring from jumping off of the spring perch when the conditions are less than ideal. The guards are sold in pairs with two packs being needed to outfit a complete truck.
