Xray Racing Series Slovenia Rd2 – Report

Round 2 of the Xray Racing Series Slovenia was held at the Genius Ring recently and in 13.5T Touring it was a fight between round 1 winner Nejc Mihelic and Italy’s Mattia Collavo. In the end Nejc managed to stay on top for another TQ while in the 21.5T Formula class it was Herfried Pucher who took the TQ without any problems, since main rival Matej Dobnikar could not attend this round.

After the lunch break it was time for the triple main finals and in 13.5T Touring Nejc Mihelic (Xray) would convert his TQ into three wins. 2nd place went to Mattia Collavo (Yokomo) from Patrik Pozgaj (Xray) in 3rd.

In the Formula A-main pole sitter Herfried Pucher (Serpent) took the win easily in all three finals as the 2nd and 3rd place went to the Xray duo of Arno Webernig and Oliver Wauch respectively.

Revtech X-Factor modified motors

Trinity have introduced the new Revtech X-Factor modified brushless motors in a range of 3.0T to 9.5T windings. The power plants utilise a highly machined aluminium case for exceptional heat dissipation and this, in combination with highest quality materials, gives virtually zero fade during a run. New and improved solder tabs now make wiring even easier. DE Racing 8ight-X & MP10 BumpSkids & rear skid plates

Coming from DE Racing are their new BumpSkids and rear skid plates for the TLR 8ight-X and Kyosho MP10 buggies. Starting with the BumpSkids, they combine a well functioning front skid plate with a refined front bumper to create the ultimate in protection, performance, and styling. As for the rear skid plates, like the front BumpSkids, these are ultra thin, they wear like aluminium and save the chassis from becoming overly scratched or damaged. They are sold in packs of three and use the original bulkhead mounting hardware.

Xtreme Racing T4’20 carbon fibre motor spacer set

Xtreme Racing have introduced their new carbon fibre motor spacer set for the Xray T4 2020 touring car. When running a motor without or just a small chamfer, the motor can may hit the top plate when running a smaller spur gear. The set includes a 1.2mm and a 2.0mm thickness spacer that locates the motor further away from the motor mount and top plate, allowing top use a wider range of gear ratios with specific motors. The spacers are designed to be held into the motor so they are easier to install but can be removed if needed. The set also includes miscellaneous fasteners.

Reds Racing Tetra V3.0 off-road clutch system

Coming from Reds Racing is their new Tetra V3.0 clutch system for 1/8th off-road vehicles. The updated clutch features a new dust-proof flywheel that has been redesigned compared to the previous version in order to better protect the engine’s front bearing from dirt even in very dusty track conditions. Furthermore, Reds Racing have improved the shoes and springs to optimise fuel consumption and performance. The shoes and springs can be used on the previous clutch versions and the V3.0 is available in a total of four variants; with 32mm or 34mm flywheels and as aluminium clutch of medium inertia, good on all types of track layouts and also as steel clutch with high inertia, recommended for low grip tracks. Both clutches utilise four aluminium shoes and 1.0mm springs but they can be outfitted with optional parts carbon shoes and 1.1 mm springs.

Xray T4’20 2-piece 0.25 eccentric suspension holders

Xray are busy introducing more option parts for their all-new T4 2020 touring car. The latest to hit the light of the day are split 0.25 eccentric suspension holders that enable the driver to have even more control over the lower arm toe-in settings as they allow for 0.25 degree increments. The suspension hangers are machined from high-quality 7075-T6 aluminium and they come black anodised and laser-etched for easy identification. They are usable with the standard kit composite suspension inserts and are available from now on.

Xray XB4’20 large volume centre differential set

Coming from Xray and made for their XB4 2020 1/10th scale 4WD buggy is a large volume centre differential set. Using the diff will increase traction on slippery track while also improving car handing over bumpy sections where it helps to absorb bumps better. The larger oil volume prevents the diff from overheating, extending its lifespan. The super-smooth gear diff set includes a composite case and cover with exchangeable spur gear. The set includes a 81T spur gear with a range of sizes being available to fine-tune the gear ratio. The internal gears are precision-moulded from tough composite material, ensuring long lifespan and super-smooth, efficient operation.

TLR 22X-4 1/10th 4WD electric buggy kit

Team Losi Racing have officially unveiled their all-new 22X-4 1/10th scale 4WD buggy that made some impression at the 2019 IFMAR 1/10th Buggy World Championship held at the Hudy Racing Arena in Trencin, Slovakia. Although still sharing its name with its predecessor, the triple-belt-driven 22-4, the 22X-4 has nothing in common with the previous buggy. Taking a completely different approach to a TLR 4WD buggy, the R&D team has developed an all-new platform from the ground up. Switching to the more reliable and versatile shaft drive design, the 22X-4 is much lighter and has improved driving characteristics while also being significantly easier to build and maintain. The buggy has a combination of features second-to-none including full adjustable suspension, 2.5 milled aluminium chassis, floating servo mount, adjustable motor and battery position, carbon fibre throughout, and so much more. Maximising the flex characteristics for all surfaces, the 2.5mm thick chassis with heavy pocketing gives the correct amount of flex and rigidity for smooth corning, optimised balance, and bounce-free landings. Taking suspension tuning to a new level, the 22X-4 has adjustments for front and rear axle height, rear axle pin position, inner front and rear hinge pin position in all directions, nearly unlimited rear camber link positions, shock mounting positions, and much more.

The 22X-4 can be dialed in for any surface, grip level, or driving style. Designed to be light and durable, the 22X-4 is designed with large volume bevel gear diffs for the ultimate in performance and durability. The kit includes all metal diff internals with hard anodised aluminium cross pins. Not to leave spec racers behind, composite diff internal gears as well as composite ring and pinion options are available separately. The 22X-4 allows for the centre slipper and motor mount assembly to be mounted in either front or rear positions, with 7mm of adjustment between them. The battery also has an additional 9mm of adjustment for solid changes to front/rear weight balance without the need to increase the static weight.

To keep the servo mount from affecting the chassis flex, the servo is mounted hanging above the chassis. The mount only secures to the chassis plate near the chassis centerline, then uses rigid 2.5mm carbon fibre to support the weight and leverage of the servo to optimise steering performance and chassis flex. The 22X-4 borrows from the 22 5.0’s versatile and easy to use battery hold down system. With a similar elastomer band, the battery strap hooks into the chassis front and rear allowing for different height batteries to be installed without hassle. Battery position is controlled with secured, easy to adjust battery stops both front and rear.

The G3 shocks give the 22X-4 the plush handling and consistent, leak-free bleed with some ease of use improvements. No more e-clips as the pistons are now secured by screws, new shock caps and shock bodies increase the spring collar height by 3mm to accommodate lower ride heights, new eyelets and spring cups provide -3mm, 0mm and +4mm spring cup off-sets and paired with all new eyelets will never pop off with the screw in feature. The new eyelets are also made in two lengths that allow racers to switch between normal and +3mm rear axle height without needing to change stroke or up-travel, and work with revised shock balls that finally slide into the front arms smoothly and easily.

The 22X-4 includes a healthy list of included premium parts: aluminium ball stud washers throughout, aluminium clamping hexes, adjustable aluminium suspension mounts, carbon fibre plates, full machined shock internals, TLR low frequency springs, aluminium motor mount, and sway bars. Sleek and stylish, the 22X-4 body design is the perfect match to the chassis. It looks sleek and fast, is nice and low but provides excellent balance and stability – the best of all worlds.

Klinik RC Cougar Laydown +3mm rear camber mount

Klinik RC have introduced their new +3mm rear camber mount for the Schumacher Cougar Laydown buggy. The mount is aimed at astro and carpet racers that have needed to stack 3-6mm in washers to obtain the correct roll centre for higher grip surfaces. Using the mount adds strength to the rear inner ball mount when running a higher roll centre. With no washers installed the parts offers the same height as the stock geometry with 3mm washer, hence the +3mm name.

Shepherd V8.2 hard suspension plastics set

Hot on the heels of their new hard suspension plastics set for the Velox V10, Shepherd now also release a kit for their popular Velox V8.2 1/8th scale on-road car. The new hard plastic part set includes all wishbones, uprights and body mounts in a harder variant. Kawada M300FX4S 1/12th scale pan car kit

Kawada have announced the release of their new M300FX4S 1/12th scale pan car kit with 2mm aluminium main chassis. Developed for racing in high to very high bite conditions the aluminium chassis will help to settle down the car’s reaction, making for improved car control and quicker lap times. Also included are an aluminium rear lower pod plate, a separate front bumper mount, floating servo mount, the #RSF18 carbon fibre rear axle shaft that allows diff or locked diff functions, the differential lock set, a large urethane front bumper as well as a purple centre shock spring. Yeah Racing YD2 aluminium rear motor kit

Made for Yokomo’s YD2 series of RWD drift cars is Yeah Racing’s new aluminium rear motor kit. The set relocates the motor of the YD2 to a rearward position which helps to gain on-power grip and corner entry speed. The motor position is adjustable so drivers can fine-tune the amount of chassis roll when entering a corner. The leftover space is filled by an aluminium chassis stiffener brace which also acts as a location to attach the speed controller to. Also brought over from Yeah Racing’s previous bulkhead design is the quick release diff to easily swap between diffs to try different setups. Included in the kit are the gearbox halves, motor plate, chassis stiffener and chassis mount, all machined from aluminium and coming black anodised and laser-engraved for surface protection and looks.

Yokomo Racing Performer 3.5mm motor connectors

Coming from Yokomo’s Racing Performer series are new heavy-duty 3.5mm motor connectors. The female tube-style connectors are of a hexagonal design which makes soldering a lot easier while the “heatsink” design allows for improved motor terminal cooling. The european-style bullet-type male connectors can be used for straight for 90 degrees angled soldering, allowing for more wire routing options. The connectors are of a heavy-duty design meaning they are less prone to unplug even in the event of a crash and they are available as 6-piece tube and plug set or as 3-piece tube set.
