The opening round of the popular Longwy Winter Series was held last weekend in Longwy, France. The club, which is situated in the northern part of France, laid out a nice and flowing carpet track with the event drawing more than 100 entries and the biggest class of the weekend was the Touring 13.5 Superstock category with over 50 entries alone. After the triple A-mains and When the dust had settled, it was Tobias Vogel with the overall victory from Florian Joos in 2nd, the latter having to cope with a power deficit in A2 and A3 but was able to secure the overall runner-up spot with a win in the third A-main as Alexander Becker would round out the top 3 results.
Over in the Modified class, that unfortunately only attracted twelve entries, it was Tim Wahl with the overall TQ some three tenths of a second in front of Loic Jasmin. The triple A-mains saw Tim sealing the bag after the opening two legs, allowing him to sit out A3 that was won by Loic for the overall runner-up spot as Thimo Weissbauer came in 3rd to round out the all-Awesomatix podium.
